My name is Andrea Tibay and I am very happy to join Victoria University. I started working as an EFL teacher 15 years ago and I lived and worked in Florence and Lucca in Tuscany for more than 10 years. I have been teaching on English for Academic Purposes pre-sessional programmes since 2013 and this is the field I would like to focus on in the future; I would like to do my Ph.D. research in EAP. I hold a Master of Arts in International Communications and language teaching all three DELTA modules together with the CELTA, Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a Certificate in Teaching Young Learners and Teenagers.

I have a passion for helping students reach their potential and love to challenge my learners to be curious and enjoy their learning journey. I think that the most virtue of an educator is the ability to fully listen to their learners, their needs and to find a way to improve their motivation to achieve their goals. Organization and creating structured, goal-oriented and interesting lessons with clear aims are also one of my top priorities when it comes to lesson planning.
